1) BRADLEY FAST GIRLS TRAILER BRADLEY "BOYBAND LOOK" LOL BRADLEEEEEEY ♥ ♥

2) [livejournal.com profile] camelot_drabble is a thing I am doing! Maybe! I don't know, I'm just bummed I haven't been able to write anything in a year and a half, and there's absolutely no pressure involved with this, I think it could be a good thing for me? COME PLAY WITH ME? Then when you've finished playing with me, go join the community. Ahahaha haha ha...ha? Forgive me, I've gotten into the Easter candy early.

3) Oh okay, so, totally random question that I could definitely google, except I'm here now, so I may as well ask...why is fish/seafood not considered meat? My family, though not generally religious in the slightest, always do the abstaining from meat thing on Good Friday, so we always have seafood and I DON'T UNDERSTAND. YOU ARE FLESH FROM AN ANIMAL, Y SO SPECIAL, SEAFOOD?

3a) Did you guys ever hear that joke in primary school, where you'd ask someone if they liked seafood and if they said yes, you'd open your mouth to show them half-masticated food and say "see? food!" and it was ALWAYS HILARIOUS?

4) Speaking of opening mouths, I went to the dentist on Monday. Barely got any sleep the night before, was PACKING IT the morning of, but the dentist was tiny and adorable and I wanted to keep her forever. I have to get my wisdom teeth out at the end of the month and then some fillings and I'm super scared about these things. We were discussing the procedure and she's like, yeah, it's probably best you go to the doctor and get a script for valium. YOU DON'T KNOW ME OKAY MAYBE I'LL BE SUPER BRAVE AND AWESOME THAT DAY. MAYBE I WON'T EVEN WANT PAINKILLERS. THE DENTAL ASSISTANT WILL COME UP TO ME WITH THE NUMBING NEEDLE AND I'LL BE LIKE NO. I'M GONNA DO THIS RAW. I'VE GOT THIS.

That, or I'll wet myself with fear.

One of those two things, almost definitely.

5) Cheat's After Dinner Mint Cheesecake:

Serves one

¼ of a philly cheese packet, softened
caster sugar
cream
2 Mint Slice biscuits (or your country's closest equivalent), crushed
dark chocolate, melted

1 - Beat cream cheese and about 1 tablespoon of caster sugar together until combined.
2 - Add about 1 tablespoon of cream and beat until combined.
3 - Add crushed biscuits and stir to incorporate. Refrigerate for 30 minutes-an hour.
4 - Swirl melted (but cool) chocolate through.
5 - Fucking gorge on that shit.

Sorry for the shady measurements, I was ~improvising. Add a drop of peppermint essence if you want a stronger mint flavour.

6) Oh man, sugar crash.

7) One more Bradley for the road

I don't know what the flip is wrong with me lately, but I've been crying at pretty much the slightest emotion all week. But the happy ones only. I've been in an emo mood for the last couple of days, but the moment anything happy occurs, I'm all SOB SOB GREATEST THING EVER.

I was re-reading In Want Of A Wife by [livejournal.com profile] syllic earlier and it hit me all of a sudden how utterly, utterly meant for each other Merlin and Arthur are. Not just in that story, but in everything; in fic, in the show, in my head. Regardless of circumstance or merit, they're intertwined in such a way that makes it impossible for one to live without the other. That makes true happiness unattainable in anyone else's arms but each other's.

And it's not that this thought has never occured to me before, but the weight of it sort of pulled me under until I was wrecked with the gravity of it all, the enormity of such love.

And then I just felt really stupid because they're fictional characters, but whoever said hormones were supposed to make you rational?

So anyway, that set me off all afternoon, like a[n] [in-dire-need-of-a-mood-stabiliser] boss. Couple that with unnecessary repeats of my dead!Arthur fanmix and this fanvid of Bradley and Colin that [livejournal.com profile] rebbeile found, and today has just been flipping marvelous.

In other failings, somewhere in between being a perve and rejoicing that other people are just as pervy as I am, I forgot to thank [livejournal.com profile] lemniciate for coming up with a couple of the questions in the HARDEST POLL EVERRR (if you haven't voted, what, what, WHAT is wrong with you, you righteous bastards), after incessant nagging from me earlier that morning. SO THANK YOU, YOU MORALLY DUBIOUS WENCH.
Random entry of randomness because I'm trying to keep myself awake for a few more hours.

Mrs. Krabappel and Principal Skinner were in the closet making babies and I saw one of the babies and then the baby looked at me. )
Hey everyone, it's Frivolous Plots Friday! Or; it's Friday and I happen to feel like sharing the plotty madness that sometimes goes through my head, let's make a thing of it! Sounds like fun, right, Merlin?

Shut up, Merlin.

Cheesy trope, I want you so hard )

And that's that. What about you guys? Do you ever come up with fic ideas you know are ridiculous or corny but that you can't help but want?
Two memes because it's been a while since I've done one and I'm super bored. Where the fuck is everyone? HDU have lives :(

Meme the first:

Comment and I will:

1. Tell you why I friended you.
2. Associate you with something. A fandom, a song, a color, a piece of fruit. SOMETHING.
3. Tell you something I like about you.
4. Tell you a memory I have of you.
5. Ask you a random question.
6. Tell you my favorite userpic of yours.

In return, you must post this in your LJ. Or don't. You know, whatever.

Meme the second aka Fandom Meme aka My Merlin Thoughts, let me show you them )
Harry Potter 30 day meme, get excited, dorks. Stolen from [livejournal.com profile] airekuh.

There will be spoilers, so suck it up.

Day 1: Your favorite book.

Order of the Phoenix.

Probably the most commonly hated in fandom, but I don't know, it really struck a chord with me. Harry's anger, whilst annoying in the way that all teenagers' misplaced anger is, was understandable after the final events of Goblet of Fire and the beginning events of Order of the Phoenix. I could relate to the moods and I could appreciate that Rowling wasn't afraid to show us the flaws in him. He was a hell of a lot funnier in this one too. I don't think I'd ever lol'ed at the books before and then I was only at page eleven before Harry says, so dryly I always imagine, in response to Uncle Vernon's "listening to the news! Again?" -

"Well, it changes every, you see."

Up until this point, I don't think we've ever seen him talk back to his aunt and uncle in such a way. But after four books, you can see he's had enough of their stupidity.

In other respects, I thought the battle in the Ministry between Dumbledore and Voldemort at the end was EPIC, the threesome expanding into six was brilliant (YAY NEVILLE) and I loved how they all showed such initiative going after Sirius by themselves (however foolish a journey it turned out to be). Umbridge was the most vile and delightfully evil character and it's, I don't know, refreshing to read characters like her, Fudge and Percy, who are "bad" but not evil. To have them be a force against the good guys without pigeonholing them into Voldemort's camp.

And I've spoken about this before, but Order of the Phoenix was my first real experience with fandom, in that I got to anticipate and speculate with all the other fans in the months leading up to its release. There's a lot to be said about shared anticipation and how excitement builds enormously when you have people around that are just as worked up as you. The wait was just as big an event as actually getting my hands on the damn thing.

The book is obviously not without its flaws, it could have done with better editing, for one. I remember defending the need for "Hagrid's Tale" to be a whole chapter long because I was sure Grawp would be significant in some way during the final battle and as it turns out, he's not really. It's definitely not the most satisfying plot-wise, like Goblet of Fire, or the most satisfying in terms of answers given (Deathly Hallows, obviously). But it clearly captured my heart because despite being the longest of the series, it's the one I've read the most.

Rest of the days )
Happy New Year team! I'm at home, being my usual anti-social self. Well, I went out earlier, but I've never really been the celebrating type. I could see the fireworks go off (on the coastline) from here at home though, so that was kind of nice to watch. So, do you guys do resolutions? I generally don't, although I did say I'd quit smoking last year and I (eventually) did do that (4 months smoke free baby!). And I swore I'd lose weight. I didn't, although I was doing really well in the first four months. This year (well, technically last) I've eaten a whole lot better too, so I guess my goal for this year is to not give up on exercise and continue to eat healthier. I will never not use real butter in my cooking though! NEVAH!
I realised why tons of people don't do recaps. They take for-fucking-ever.

Just as a warning, I haven't had time to process my angry thoughts, so this might not make sense?

EDIT: Updated to include some positives.
