In other music news, NEW DIVINE COMEDY! In the first listen through I was all 'meh' but in the second go through I am snapping my fingers, so that's a good sign. Have a listen, track three, Neapolitan Girl.

Other favourites for the week:
Cap'n Ted - Big Tree. I only downloaded the 2009 album the other day, but I've already listened to it more than the newer releases I've collected recently. Highly recommended.
In The Direction Of The Moon - Wolf Parade. The new album isn't as terrible as I was expecting but I do wish they'd head back into the direction of their old sound.
Apple Pie Bed - Lawrence Arabia. A brilliantly fun, 60's sounding pop song.

okay. I have to explain it now.
see, Merlin had a dentist appointment. he was having oral (hehe) surgery cause he had to have his wisdom teeth removed. that's why his cheeks are all balloon-y. since Merlin was all pissy about the surgery, Arthur was all, "let's go out!" so they ended up going to a coffee shop (durrsies)..and apparently Arthur was their 100,000th customer so he got a little crown and free coffee! then Merlin was even more pissy. fucking Merlin, right? dick can't be happy for Arthur. anyways, Merlin's coffee was too hot and he burns his tongue! so he starts flailing about and Arthur's just chillin' like a villain cause life is great at the moment. the end.

ugh the sugar high is starting to die down. (I ate..let me count..seven "Chewy" bars..=/) I can't go to sleep though! I'd never wake up! and then I'd miss breakfast and there's a good chance they'll have tater tots. omfg, their tater tots are great. I think they fry them in pig fat or something ridiculous like that. I was a bit meh about Bang Goes The Knighthood to start off with, too, and there are still tracks I don't like. Indie Disco, for one, which sounds like a song I would have hummed along to back in, like, 1996 -- although Lewis did point out that each track is sort of a slice of pop from a particular era and place, and that one is obviously early 90s Britain so it works quite well!

I really like Down In The Street Below, though; that's a classic. The track with Thomas Walsh would have fitted better on The Duckworth Lewis method (unsurprisingly) and the ones with his twee new girlfriend are smug and I can't help but go "god, his ex-wife must be so mad when she hears these" every time I listen to them, haha.

But it's definitely better than I thought it would be, which is good because I'm seeing them live next month!
