Lord of the Rings, Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind, American Beauty, Fight Club, The Matrix, It Happened One Night, Amelie, The Princess Bride, Evolution, Zoolander, Sweeney Todd, Secretary, The Royal Tenenbaums, Dogma, Frida, Across the Universe, Some Like It Hot, Jurassic Park, Calamity Jane, Grease, Hamlet 2.

Probably the Lord of the Rings films? I went into The Fellowship of the Ring annoyed by how much publicity the franchise was receiving and wondering what the big fuss was. I came out in awe and never as glad to be wrong with my preconceived notions. The actors were all fantastic (I've never loved a cast as much, although Merlin does come close), the cinematography was outstanding and the world they presented was enthralling. Plus, I'd only ever really lurked in the HP fandom before, so LotR was probably my first real foray into what it was like to be a fan and have other people around to interact, squee and anticipate with. There's a certain added fondness that comes just from introducing me to the world of fandom.

Plus, it introduced me to joy that is boytouching, something for which I will be eternally grateful for. Not that I hadn't looked at stuff before, but well, how can you top this:

Woah. I'm glad we finally worked this all out. Now if only you trusted me enough to reveal your true magical abilities give me the ring, we would be unstoppable. I'm pretty damn handy with a sword.

Although the whole sisters seperated at birth thing doees put a bit of a dampener on the whole epic boy love thing.

How hard it is to be YOU!? What about me? All the *angst* pressure of duty, I can never be who I truly am because *angst* I have to defend the honour of my kingdom. The kingdom I don't even have yet, because Father was such a bastard. Have to try and be a *angst* good king queen king oh smokes I'm so confused.
