1) It's rather jarring to hear that 75% of your state has been declared a disaster zone.

2) I'm thinking about getting a budgerigar. I'd name it Merlin, as if you had any doubt.

3) My horoscope for this week, which I choose to believe today because it suits me, which is how I view all horoscopes. I'm winning money? AWESOME! I need to grow up. Pfft, load of crock. Anyway:

I actually had to look up what a budgerigar is. They're pretty, though. (THOSE COLORS.) Have you owned a bird before? I've always wondered what that would be like...

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I have an aunt and uncle who are going to be trapped in their home for a few days without power, but other than that, I'm not personally affected. But still, those poor people who've lost their houses or family :( So sad.

Yeah, I should have linked what the thing was. I actually already have two birds, cockatiels (http://newshealth.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/2005Cockatiels.jpg), but they're not super friendly, whereas budgies LIKE to come out of their cage and sit on your shoulder and whatnot. Oh and I have 5 chickens XD But we keep them for eggs, not particularly as pets.

I can't even imagine the flooding that's going on in your neck of the woods. :( We've had flash flooding where I live a few times but they only lasted a few days versus weeks. I'm happy that you're safe and sound, I hope the same can be said for your friends and family.

I think a Merlin budgie would be the cutest thing in the world, but don't they work better in pairs? I'm just saying he might be lonely without an Arthur. >_> Aaaand he might need a little red kerchief. :DDD
