Deathly Hallows, wooooo!

I dunno, I dunno, I'm still on an I FINALLY SAW IT high, but I think it's the thumbs up. I'm seeing it again tomorrow in any case, because a) I owed a friend and b) I missed three separate parts due to my bladder being a big bitch.

Point form power because my mind is kind of all over the shop and it's easier:

Things I remember I liked:

  • Rupert Grint

  • The opening 10 minutes up until the flight to the Burrow.

  • The animation for The Tale of the Three Brothers. For serious, this might be my favourite part and the whole cinema audience was deadly quiet during. It was really, really captivating. I actually cried here, not because it was sad, but because it just translated so well onto screen.

  • The humour.

  • Ron/Hermione.

  • Harry dancing with Hermione to cheer her up. I know some people are going to hate this scene, but I loved it. It was just really simple, innocent, beautiful friendship.

  • The camping was all really good, the locations were gorgeous.

  • Jason Isaacs. He looks terrible but in a good way.

Things I remember I didn't like:

  • The locket-destroying scene. This is probably just because it's one of my most favourite scenes in the whole series, being that it's such a definitive moment in Ron and Harry's friendship, but I was really let down. They didn't put nearly enough emotion into it. I don't think it was Dan or Rupert's fault either, it looks like a directing decision to me, to underplay it. But yeah. Unimpressed.

  • The flight to the Burrow. Unnecessarily stupid action, like when they go through the tunnel and Harry's dangling from the sidecar and RUNNING ALONG THE TOP OF A BUS AS HE'S DRAGGED ALONG. I mean, why is that even necessary, ugh.

  • The red armbands the law enforcement at the Ministry wore. YES OKAY, NAZI REFERENCE, DULY NOTED, WARDROBE DEPARTMENT.

And that's all I really remember at the moment, my brain is a bit fuzzy. Oh, I cried during Dobby's death. It was a bit annoying, I mean, he gives this speech before leaving Malfoy Manor and I kind of just rolled my eyes and was like, oh yeah, play it up, Kloves, BUT THEN I TOTALLY CRIED ANYWAY, it's sort of hard not to. I teared up at Hedwig's death, but it really goes by quickly. And you didn't see Mad-Eye die, just like the book, but it's mentioned, though I didn't cry. He's actually really funny though beforehand, he's part of why I enjoyed the seven Potters scene so much.

And now bed. Eight-ish months to go until the next one!

ETA: SO IN CONCLUSION (and because I've never seen this pic before), THIS GUY:

Yeah, that's what I mean, they just make it so obvious when it's pretty much something we can figure out for ourselves, I think. I dunno, it didn't overly bug me, but I did roll my eyes.
