True Blood season three has begun airing on tv here, finally. Ep one was so-so though. Without spoiling me, does it get better?

I watched the classic film, Once Upon A Time In The West, for the very first time last night and wow, it was brilliant. I've always been a fan of older movies but I never particularly got the appeal of Westerns but this, oh this. The opening scene alone was breathtaking in itself but the whole film was just incredible. I loved the introduction each of the three male leads got; Harmonica in the grand, suspenseful opening scene; Frank in that epic, tension-filled scene where we find out right away just how cold-blooded this baddie is; and lastly, Cheyenne (easily my favourite character), as he walks into the saloon from an unseen, violent confrontation outside, straight up to the bar to order a drink, only for us to see he's obviously just killed lawmen because he's still handcuffed.

The camera work is brilliant, from the tight close-ups of everyone's eyes to sweeping wideshots of the landscape that really do take your breath away. I think the cinematography is what really makes this film, rather than the story. The plot is slow to develop, though not in a bad way; the build up is completely necessary and admittedly, occasionally I had no idea what was going on but honestly, I couldn't tear my eyes away for one second. It's quite possibly in my top ten now, I loved it that much.

And that's pretty much it, what's going on with you guys? Not long until new Merlin now, less than month!

Ah the election!! Gillard lost the parliamentary majority though, right? Are you thinking a hung parliament or will one or the other be able to schmooze for seats do you think?! There was an article in this past issue of the Economist about the race, I'm quite curious to see what happens. Mmmm, politics... *swoon*

The race is on to schmooze, and as much as I hate to say it, I think the Liberal Party has more of a chance. Not too much is going on with me. I've been mostly just working and sleeping, eating a little bit, watching movies. Friday I went to the city and visited/stayed at my friend's house, and then yesterday I went to Rock the Mount and got to see a bunch of my trip friends and had a wonderful time. I miss them already, again.

you know he died? was he was like, 50 or something? sad times. =( I remember I had a waiter named Westley..or maybe Wesley..once. he was pretty and he helped out these elderly couples. it was so fucking cute, omg. I think he thought we were making fun of him cause we kept on talking about him..but we were just talking about his hotness. =( anyways.

I still haven't really listened to Sufjan. =x I get bored..=xxx but someone said that was ok, that I should listen to him in the car? so that's what I'm going to do next. (y)

oh, I didn't know you watched TB! =0 YES. IT DOES. some crazy shit starts happening and there's a lot of blood and laughs..I have about three episodes to catch up on though..but I've only heard good things..kk.

I'm hot in a sickly way..and I'm thinking about the things that I will do Sept. 7th aka how I'll buy Interpol and how I'll listen to it. I think I'm going to lock myself in a bathroom and turn off all the lights and cry of happiness.

Cary Elwes isn't dead! He's still alive and kicking, he's even reprising his role in the next Saw film, Saw 3D.

Are you listening to Illinois, because that's the best album. And yeah, listening to it it the car would totally work, he would have been on my Summer mix (the one about driving with the windows down) except I only wanted to use an artist once, and I'd already used him for Autumn but anyway.

Yesss, I love TB and I'm glad to hear it gets better. I think I was probably judging it a bit too harshly, I mean, it's the first ep, they need to set everything up and whatnot. Huzzah for blood and laughs!

September 7 will be an epic day for you, I can tell already.

IT IS FANTASTIC, IS IT NOT?

Oh my, you have to see this film. Go, go get it now, it is that AMAZING. When you watch it, something will seem so familiar and then you realise it's because you can see how so many of today's film makers have been influenced by it. God, it is gorgeous and if you didn't know before, you WILL learn the meaning of suspense as you watch, each scene seems to get a tense build up in some way, it's really inventive cinema.

The thought of Abbot becoming are PM makes me want to vomit... I feel sick when I think about it. Not that I really feel Gillard is much better but she is the lesser of two evils you know.

I'm up to episode 5 of True Blood and I'm very much enjoying it but not quite the same way as season 2, with season 2 I couldn't wait to get to the next episode where as I'm 5 episodes behind this season/

I'd never heard so many people wondering who to vote for. I mean, we really were stuck for choice weren't we? Neither party appeals; Labour hasn't come through with things they promised last election and the Liberals aren't offering anything substantial and plus, of course, ew Tony Abbott. We the voters were really stuck between a rock and a hard place on this one, what the hell has happened to our country, honestly. Blergh.

Season two was brilliant, yeah? Really gripping and fun tv. I'm glad to hear s3 gets better, even if it's not quite on that level.
