Why is it that I always have heaps to say but as soon as I open this page, my mind goes blank?

*I'm trying to get back into reading, so to ease myself back in, I've been looking for books that movies were based off of. I used to love reading but these past few months I just can't get into anything. I have 4 Carl Hiaasen books and a Clive Cussler sitting in my bookshelf that I got for Christmas (?) and I can't even bring myself to touch them. The desire to read books that become films also comes from having watched Midnight Cowboy the other day and desperately wanting to read the story. Unfortunately none of the libraries on the Coast appear to own it. You know, I have a new goal in life. I plan to own the one place in the whole area that actually had EVERY novel ever written, along with EVERY movie ever put on dvd. This also comes from me trying to rent Bladerunner earlier tonight and finding out that the TWO video stores in my suburb DON'T STOCK IT. BLADERUNNER! The film that critics put on par with 2001: A Space Odyssey. Naturally, this is a TRAVESTY! Anyhoo, back to the books. I ordered Breakfast at Tiffany's by Truman Capote yesterday and it came in today, so I think I'll curl up soon and start on that, right after Gilmore Girls. Bladerunner (Do androids dream of electric sheep? by Phillip Dick) is next.

*So this website I'm using to help me find books-cum-films is pretty interesting. Who knew that Die Hard was actually a book (please don't say it's just me)? What about I know what you did last Summer? ZOMG The Princess Bride! Screw Bladerunner, The Princess Bride comes next!

*We got a new dog about a month or two ago. Her name is Kyla, she's three years old and she's a staffy/foxy cross.

*Fave songs of the moment: Expectations - Belle & Sebastian, Going, Going, Gone - Stars, Maple Leaves - Jens Lekman, Pompeii Am Götterdämmerung - The Flaming Lips. Someone tell me if you want them uploaded, all worth it :D

*I have got to go to bed, the kid wore me out today. She was in such a whingy mood, I think she's coming down with something. But yeah, it's really draining to look after a kid when they're in a bad mood. Nannying: reinforcing almost every reason why I never want to be a parent.

You watch Gilmore Girls?? That whole Rory and Lorelyl or whatever her name was show? That used to come here a while back. Just when I started watching it, they decided to stop airing it. : \

And I never knew Die Hard was a book either. :P So its not "just you" :P Though me saying that might not be such a comforting thought. :P

Kyla, got it from your name? :P

Gilmore Girls is a good show, it's my guilty pleasure :D

Kyla was already named so. Her original owner had to give her up because she was moving to London, so she put Kyla in an animal shelter. I thought it was just cruel and confusing to try and give her a new name, so we stuck with Kyla (which is just as confusing because I keep getting called Kyla all the time, and she keeps being called Kylie. Nice how my family mistakes me for a dog, hey? ;) )
