I WAS SO WONDERING THIS TOO. If I weren't for the fact that I've been awake for about 24 hours or more I would attempt fic, but I have been so I won't. *makes mental note to stalk post later and see other people's response*

Ah basically I really loved this episode and I'm really anxious for how they're gonna continue from here.

I'm personally hoping for a bit of angst for several episodes in which Arthur contemplates everything and realizes how many times Merlin has saved him and how much he loves him. Even if they're not friends/Merlin is in hiding until Arthur calms down, he still creeps around saving Arthur's life until Arthur's like, "Merlin, I know you're there. Come over here so I can tell you how much I love you." Then they hug and team up when someone attacks them. Afterward, they have sex. There better be fireworks when that shit finally hits the fan, my friend. There better be. I'll buy a bottle of champagne and keep it close every Saturday in hopes that I can actually open it to celebrate sometime during this century.

OMG IKR? I spent much too long ogling the horror that is that crown in the coronation scene. Couldn't Arthur have nicked his dad's? Not like Uther was gonna be needing it. I mean, Uther's crown was much prettier and understated and regal. Arthur appears to be wearing something you get free from Burger King...

Oh a million times this! Like when Geoffrey was holding it I was like, hey it doesn't look all that bad, but then when Arthur had it on I quickly retracted that thought, its hideous!

Overall this ep was a bit meh for me. Like I felt Merlins pain, but I am soooo over the 'merlin tries to show Arthur magic is good only to have it backfire and result in him hating it more then ever' storyline. ITS BEEN DONE TO DEATH. Also I like to assume that Merlin is smart and he keeps doing these really stupid/reckless things. The only good thing that comes from it is that it reaffirms my belief that Merlin cares about Arthur more than anything, way more then their "destiny", like legit just cares so much for Arthur that he wants to save Uther time and time again because he doesn't want Arthurs feelings to be hurt. Aaaw silly Merlin ♥

So yeah maybe that kind of dulled the depression of it for me, it was just a bit too predictable. Not that I hated it but to me it felt like a bit of a filler because I knew what to expect the entire ep.

Also its made me appreciate the first 2 eps even more, I'm really over Camelot/the castle as a location I WANT MORE KNIGHTLY ADVENTURES IN THE WILDERNESS DAMNIT!

Ahem. Also I was depressed that nobody was depressed about Lancelot :'(

Yeah, the M/A stuff was brilliant, but like I said, I just end up depressed when Merlin fucks things up for himself. Boo, feelings.

This is one of the many reasons I could never be an actor, I was so embarrassed on Colin's behalf. Like, how do you even do that in front of other people?

I wouldn't mind seeing a flash forward in the very last ep but no, it'll finish on a positive note, with the rest of his life to go.

Oh I seriously can't watch him without cringing. People winge about all the "kiddie comedy" filler eps and praise Colin for his outstanding acting skillz for Dragoon but I find him ten times more awkward then the goblin, for example.

After dying a thousand deaths over your screen caps and scrolling back up to die again, I must agree with your wordy bits - particularly the cleverly scrolling one.

WHY send us so far back after those promising two episodes? This season should be abour Arthur learning the truth and helping Merlin hide it from Morgana.

I didn't necessarily see it as sending back, I think they've come great strides compared to other episodes, I was mostly concerned over how Arthur would ever forgive him, given that he's seen far more evil magic than good. But the more I think about it, the more I realised of course he'll forgive Merlin. If this ep showed anything, it was that Arthur loves Merlin, in his own way, and while he'll be devastated when he first finds out, he'll forgive him eventually because deep down he knows Merlin cares for him.

Good point.
The season promo certainly highlights Arthur's need to watch out for Merlin in subsequent epsiodes, and they always forgive each other so after a bit of ranty-Arthur he'll humble himself in his own way and apologise/forgive. So much tension to come. Knowing that makes me AAAGGH!
