(no subject)

My internet has been down for about a week, something about a faulty line. Technology and I are no longer BFF, it has failed me one too many times!

My aunt is leaving for her holiday on Wednesday and I'm looking after her place and dog, which means I have a new home for six, yes SIX weeks. Sweet. She has a good internet plan too, so I'm all set. Hopefully hers won't fail like SOME internets I know *glares at router*

I am obsessed with cooking at the moment. You might have guessed with my random posting of recipes. I get about 10 cookbooks from the library every week and copy anything that interests me. I try to make at least three things a week and I have yet to make something I don't like. There were cookies a few weeks ago that weren't fabulous but everything else I would make again. It's not like I want to be a chef, I don't have the stamina to do 12-16 hours on my feet every day and I definitely couldn't do something smaller like work in a bistro because the monotony of making the same dishes day in, day out would kill me. And really, it's not as if I'm a FANTASTIC cook, I just follow the recipes. I'm just really, really enjoying myself. Maybe I'll host my own cooking show. Watch this space...

Oooh, The Office is back! Yeah, it has been back for two weeks, I'm a little bit slow. They haven't been stellar episodes but I don't care, it's still better than most of the other crud on TV.

Ok, that's it. I'm off to read everyone's journals!

I was excited about The Office too even though the end of last season left a lot to be desired. We'll see about this one. However, having Dwight being hit on by all of those girls then him thinking they were corrupting him was pretty good.

I just realised yesterday I missed the Chair Model episode, so I watched it last night. I thought that one was better than the other two new ones, but still, disappointing.

10 cookbooks a WEEK?! :O

Yeah I don't think cooking must be that tough, as long as you follow the recipe exactly and know the difference between a teaspoon and a tablespoon :P I can imagine how much fun it must be :D

You should try Indian cuisine... more complicated, more delicious :D

I've only tried to make Korma before, it turned out rather nice. Unfortunately, my mum claims she doesn't enjoy Indian food (even though she hasn't tried enough of it) and I do have to cook something for everyone.

What's your favourite dish and I promise I'll give it a try (providing I can find a recipe)?

Well I like this thing called "Reshmi Kebab" a lot, it's a boneless chicken dish. I actually like anything chicken. Tandoori chicken, chicken tikka, definitely give those a try. Any of the curries and stuff you should have with either roties (Indian breads) or white rice.

Thing is with Indian stuff, most foreigners find it way too spicy, so they usually won't like it. But Reshmi Kebab isn't spicy, so definitely go for that. I wouldn't know about the recipies, probably best to look one up online :)

And South Indian cuisine isn't spicy at all, idli with sambhar, dosas.. ooh now I'm hungry.. :P
