I spent last night - during an epic hour-long coughing fit - creating a Knights cricket team*. Because I'm just hip and fascinating like that?
So, Arthur is OBVS captain and a number three batsman - he's a century-maker, equally capable of explosively blasting balls all around the ground and building an innings slowly when the going is tough. He fields in third slip usually.
Merlin (he may as well be a knight, 'kay?) is a medium-fast bowler, deadly accurate, capable of bowling the same line and length over and over again until the batsman forces an error on themselves. Absolutely hopeless at batting though, he's a number ten or eleven, easily. He probably fields on the boundary, he's got the big hands for those long catches. And you know he'd entertain the crowd on the boring days.
Gwaine is wicket-keeper because of a willingness to throw his body around and because he comes up with the best sledges to put opposing batsmen off their game. As a batsman, probably number six, he operates under one belief - hit the ball as hard as you bloody well can and hope to god you clear the fielders.
Lancelot is Mr Reliable, a number five batsman, who, when things are going bad for the team, will steady the ship with careful, patient batting. He fields at second slip next to Arthur, is probably vice captain, and bowls a handy offspin when Arthur needs variety in his bowling attack.
Elyan is a legspin bowler who either terrorises batsman with spin or gets the absolute arse flogged out of his bowling, such is the curse. He's the sort that really thinks about his cricket, doesn't always bowl to an overall plan, but to suit each batsman he faces. As a batsman, he's probably a number seven, managing a quickfire score each time without really ever going on to big scores. He doesn't have a great throwing arm, so he fields in fairly close, but he's deadly accurate; he's a pro at hitting the stumps.
Leon is an opening batsman. It's his job to stay at the crease for as long as he can to make batting easier on the rest of the team, so he has impeccable defence and drives the bowlers mad sometimes in his determination - on particularly bad wickets - to only hit the bad balls, defending away the rest. He's a quick thinker with capable hands and fields at first slip.
Percival is a fast bowler, bamboozling batsman with pure speed. He generally fields down on the boundary because he needs time to think about a catch and because he's got the strong throwing arm needed to get the ball back to the wicketkeeper quickly. He bats at ten or eleven, along with Merlin.
*Actually because I may or may not have left a cricket prompt at the kinkmeme ages ago and last night I may or may not have been thinking about it.

I'm wondering re Mordred? Would he be that sneaky almost showman like batsman who doesn't follow captains orders? And goes for glory when he should be sticking in the crease to halt a wicket collapse and instead gets out fishing?!
Gah why won't someone write me this fic. **sobs**
Anyways thanks!!!
