In which I give the old reach around

I've been wanting to discuss this for ages and now - with the recent influx of Merlin fans on my flist - seems like as good a time as any. So, what are your all time favourite Merlin-related fics? Maybe they're fandom classics, maybe they're not, but you've read them over and over and they're the first thing you rec because you want people to love them as much as you do.

I unashamedly fangirl:

I have no idea if the first one is a fandom classic but I haven't read it, I don't think. YAY NEW READING MATERIAL XD

I am completely with you on Arthur bottoming. I mean, I'm easy either way but I really enjoy the dynamics of having Arthur bottom. There's something that really hits me about the level of trust he'd have in Merlin, because when Merlin bottoms in fic, it kind of goes without saying that Merlin is just a trusting guy when it comes to Arthur - he's open, he's loving, he's willing to surrender himself because that's just the type of guy he is. But Arthur. Arthur has a whole kingdom depending on him, he has the weight of the world on his shoulders and the fact he wants to give this part of himself away, to willingly give his body to Merlin because he trusts it in his hands? Something about that just KILLS ME. Or, that's my view on the whole thing. Or some of it, I don't even know if what I said made sense.

Sorry, I got a bit tl;dr there, I HAPPEN TO BE PASSIONATE ABOUT THIS TOPIC XD

YES! It makes sense! :) To me it's also about Arthur giving himself over, letting go of that rigorous control he has over himself all the time and letting someone else rule for a while... which is both very (!) hot and totally believable as a turn-on for Arthur, much to his own surprise... Guh- it sounds like I've spent a lot of time thinking about this, but really I haven't, it just seems so logical to me... errm... *crawls back under rock*
