In which I can't imagine this time next year
Happy December 25th, guys! I've just come home from my aunt's Christmas party, so my Christmas is now officially over. Just gonna sit here and stuff my already-full face with more brownies for the rest of the afternoon. Good times.
So, I'd read the leaked spoilers and to be honest, I was pretty bummed about them. But after watching the ep, I have to say it was at least better than it sounded in print.
1. Aithusa, you little turd. Bad dragon! Bad! Dragon!
2. OOOH, the bit where Arthur's Merlin-senses were tingling and he had to go after him ;____;
3. Super sad when Isolde carked it, but I don't quite get the point of introducing those two. I mean, why not Bob and Jane? Because the writers needed the ~epicness of their legend and love to really drive home the Arthur/Gwen point?
3.5. Not even going to touch why SHE had to be the one to die, by the way. Oh writers.
4. So much Morgana hair envy, oh my gosh.
5. How effing hot was Merlin in the cave with Agravaine? I'll tell you: SO FUCKING HOT.
6. Okay, so when I first found out that Arthur didn't pull the sword out of the stone by himself, I was like, OH HALE NO, buttttttt I actually didn't mind how they portrayed it. For one, he didn't actually need to be able to pull it out by himself, seeing as how Merlin was pulling legend out of his ass. I mean, it would have been nice for him and that's what I was pissed about when I first read the spoiler, but it wasn't necessary. Buttttttt also part two, the way they did it: it wasn't so much Merlin holding the door open for Arthur, like I thought it would be, but rather Merlin swiping the keycard before Arthur could open the door. If that makes sense? It seemed more about unity than anything else, or at least that's the way I'm looking at it.
7. How did the dragon get all those people to come to the stone? I mean, after series two, you'd think the people of Camelot would shit themselves into an early grave if they saw a dragon flying by. Moreso if he started talking to them, I'd wager.
8. Ugh Gaius, die already. He's like Dumbledore in HP, Harry couldn't really grow up until he'd lost him and learned to stand on his own two feet. It's time for Merlin to learn the same thing. He's already got it pretty much in the bag tbh.
9. Arthur/Morgana confrontation, FINALLY.
10. This time next year we might have had the reveal, guys. Wait, let me rephrase that. This time next year we BETTER HAVE FUCKING HAD THE REVEAL OR I WILL SHIT OVER EVERYTHING YOU LOVE, WRITERS.

I love how badass and together Merlin was. He's definitely been that way for most of the season but this ep was just...EVERYTHING IS COMING UP MERLIN! :DDD
I also love how emo Arthur and Merlin got; just awesome acting basically.
Tristan+Isolde=lame. So pointless.
I wanted to spritz Aithusa in the face with a waterbottle. Naughty dragon, you don't ever save the insanely gorgeous baddie. At first though I thought she was going to make friends with it and I'm like WTFTHEREISONLYONEDRAGONLORDWTF. I swear if they at all change that I'm gonna be so mad.
So happy A/M had a confrontation. Way more should've been said but I guess it's a start. Whatever, Arthur being all moral and shit and not running to choke her. Her powers fizzling as someone put it was A+ awesome.
And YES please can we do a freaking reveal already?! Honestly! I want someone to pat Merlin on the back. He needs all the hugs and pats and naked happy times. ;D
Am I the only one pissed that no one has given Gwen the magic defense? I mean yeah, she had feelings for Lancelot but if it wasn't for the magic she would've never betrayed Arthur. Everything else is blamed on magic. Someone shits wrong and it's magic's fault, so wtf. At least she's Queen so I am happy...for now. >_>

So many people are pissed about this! The fact that he flew away and didn't stay by her side gives me (a perhaps false sense of) hope though. Although it would be cool to see a dragon battle next season between Kilgahrrah and Aithusa. But still. THERE IS ONLY ONE LORD OF THE DRAGONS AND HE DOES NO SHARE POWER.
