Just finished Parked.

Having Colin Morgan feels.

Just gonna die over here quietly, don't mind me.

**Spoilers in comments**
Potter in two hours!

*runs around the house*
Thing, the first:

mixtape exchange

Thing, the second:

HARRY POTTER. Man, tumblr was on fire yesterday with all the sad graphics and did you see the speeches by the trio and Jo at the premiere? Bastards made me cry.

I'm seeing the film next Saturday, so I'll be avoiding all reaction posts until then. Or, trying to, at least.

Thing, the third:

How awkward/awesome would it be if Colin Morgan and Rupert Grint had to promote a movie together? ALL THAT INTERVIEW FAIL, CAN YOU EVEN IMAGINE? Bless their little failboat hearts <333

Thing, the fourth:

I spent Sunday and Monday sick with a stomach bug or food poisoning and then by Tuesday night, I had the flu. God, my immune system hates me.

Thing, the fifth (and final):

*Home for the night, hello full-sized keyboard. If I type lively instead of lovely on my ipod one more time, I might scream.

I've actually only got a week and three days left of housesitting, I am somewhere between bummed and elated.

Tomorrow is a day of cleaning and disinfecting the house; my grandad had chemo today and he's having a blood transfusion tomorrow, and I know the chemo at least makes him very susceptible to germs.

*About to watch the final ep of Game of Thrones, finally, insert sobbing noises here. I have to say, I really enjoyed the series, having gone into it knowing absolutely nothing. I could do without the constant gratuitous violence, I'm forever watching the show through my fingers like a wuss, but then, this is HBO, I wasn't really expecting subtlety.

In related news, I would allcaps L-O-V-E to see Colin or Bradley in a guest role on that show *___*

*Lately, I've had to restrain myself from asking Bradley, via twitter, what Hogwarts house he thinks he'd be sorted into, because I don't want to give my friends second hand embarrassment. IT IS A FIERCE INTERNAL STRUGGLE THOUGH. I really want to know if he thinks he's a Gryffindor or a Hufflepuff.

The things I waste my time thinking about, I swear to fucking god.

*Oh, so Pottermore? Still not entirely sure what it is but I am excited about new canon information from JKR. Are any of you going to sign up for the beta testing of the site?

The only thing that's made me a bit sad about this whole thing is that I guess this negates the need for the long-rumoured encyclopaedia? I was looking forward to holding more Potter in my hand.

Also, FINAL POTTER FILM IN ABOUT A FORTNIGHT. I just looked back and one year ago today I was posting the trailer for the first part, ~OH MEMORIES~

*So many of you are feeling bummed lately, big hugs to you all.
Lancelot fans, today's retold myth caters to you.

God, I love that blog.

In other news, I should have pimped this ages ago but somehow didn't; the Richard Siken fic fest. I'd never heard of Siken before, as I'm not into poetry, but from the excerpts people have posted and the quality of fic produced, he certainly makes me curious. So go check out the fics or be ~inspired. [livejournal.com profile] lemniciate and [livejournal.com profile] lolafeist both wrote fantastic stuff, as well as the anon (Jenn and I have our suspicions!) who wrote this (finished here) brilliant piece, which made me cry (though to be fair, lately, that is an exceedingly easy thing to make me do).

In other, OTHER news, does anyone play Fruit Ninja on the iPod/iPhone? Like, obsessively? 905 on arcade mode last night, FUCK YEAH!

In the final bit of blathering for today, I think it is time for a Lord of the Rings extended edition dvd rewatch because I have seriously not watched them in forever and I used to be so in love.
Went and saw Deathly Hallows again on Friday and I can confidently give it the thumbs up now. The most important thing I noticed this time around? Rupert Grint's forearms. Rawwwr.

Officially blocked in a writer-ly way, which is INCONVENIENT as I owe some lovely people Christmas fic and I'm not going to be that person who flakes, I'M NOT. I think it may be because I have that modern day Merlin surf fic still eating my brain. Also some pwp Percival/Merlin, BUT DON'T TELL ANYONE THAT.

GIVE ME RECIPES PLEASE. I've been in a cooking funk, I need something new and yummy to cook.

Aaaand now I've forgotten all the other shit I was going to talk about. IT WAS FASCINATING TOO, YOU KNOW IT WAS.

Come talk to me about one/all of the following:

a) why Merlin and Arthur are failboats in love
b) why Colin and Bradley are failboats in love
c) your ultimate magic reveal scenario
d) the one kink/trope that never fails to turn you on
e) your topic of choice
Deathly Hallows, wooooo!

I dunno, I dunno, I'm still on an I FINALLY SAW IT high, but I think it's the thumbs up. I'm seeing it again tomorrow in any case, because a) I owed a friend and b) I missed three separate parts due to my bladder being a big bitch.

Spoilers ahoy )
The rhythm of the film was intended to create the sensation of the last gasps that a person takes just before dying. Once Upon a Time in the West was, from start to finish, a dance of death. All of the characters in the film, except Claudia (Cardinale), are conscious of the fact they will not arrive at the end alive.

- Sergio Leone

Guess what collector's edition dvd arrived today?

This film, guys, this film. I haven't been able to get it out of my head since I first saw it.
If you have a Colin Morgan fan on your flist, you've probably already seen this, but just in case, the trailer for his new flick, Parked.

ETA: YouTubed by someone for convenience -

Just when I think my adoration can't escalate beyond a certain level, he goes and does something ridiculous like look like a stupidly beautiful drug addict. It's all rather unfair.
HI HI HI. Home until Friday. I have zero to say but hi anyway. Thus far, my hiatus has yielded the meaningful, substantial and existential enlightenment one would expect, for example:

a) Baking a cake is far more rewarding at 2am, than at any other time.

b) If I had to experience dirty fic in audiobook form, I would want Nigella Lawson as the narrator.

c) I only exist as body heat for the dog to warm herself by of an evening.

d) I Know What You Did Last Summer remains a terrible, terrible film after all these years. Jsyk. Oh Freddie Prinze Jr., it hurts deep in my soul when you try to form an expression.

And that's that. Life-affirming, I know.
Housesitting officially starts today, eight weeks baby! Though I'll be fairly evenly spread between my aunt's house and my own by the sound of it, like next week when I'm home for the entire working week, but just a heads up anyway. The house has a computer and all but I'll most likely only be using my iPod, so you'll either not hear very much from me in the way of comments because typing on the iPod is fucking hard labour, or you'll be hearing a little too much from me because there is shit-all to do. Apologies in advance for both instances.

ONE YEAR SMOKE FREE! I'd been smoking since 2000 and never actually thought I could quit successfully, at the most I think I was just hoping to cut down, but pfft, it was so much easier than I'd ever imagined. I should go create a tumblr called fuck yeah me, because seriously. FUCK YEAH ME!

Ever since I posted that Men In Tights gif the other day, I've been mentally casting Merlin characters into that film, mostly, if I'm honest, because I want to see Leon as Little John (Don't let my name fool you. In real life, I'm veeeery big). And if we were going for the slash version, which, come on, it's ME, of course we are; Arthur would have to be Robin Hood because he's blonde and dashing (and unlike some other Robin Hoods, he can speak with an English accent); which means Merlin would be Maid Marian (I must warn you - it could only be a kiss. For I am a virgin and could never...go all the way. Unless I were married. Or if a man pledged his endless love to me. Or if I knew that he desperately cared for me. Or if he were really cute!) and Gaius would be his maidservant, Broomhilde, who's always cockblocking Marian!Merlin (NO DING DING WITHOUT A WEDDING RING). Lancelot would of course be Will Scarlet because of the HAIR and Gawain would be Achoo because I suspect he's snarky and I never really got around to casting the girls but I suppose Morgana could be the witch, Latrine (Raven's egg, blood of a hen! A little more blood, yes! Eyeballs of a crocodile, testicles of a newt...I guess he's a transsexual now.) which OH OH OH means Alvarr could be the Sheriff of Rottingham because Latrine!Morgana totes has a thing for him and he already has the beard going on. So Gwen could be...Blinkin? IDK IDK, holes, but ahhh. The things that amuse my mind.

A very, very early happy birthday to [livejournal.com profile] paenteom because I won't be here on the actual day. I hope you have a fabulous time, sweetheart!

And, er, that's it I think. Stay safe kiddies! TWOISH MORE WEEKS UNTIL NEW MERLIN, EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
The election still remains undecided; some reports are leaning towards Gillard remaining PM, but if she can't schmooze the Independents, then we're all up shit creek with Tony Abbott.

In more positive news, new Sufjan EP, wheee!

Lookit my new icon! Oh, Rosario Dawson, you are the love of my life today <3

True Blood season three has begun airing on tv here, finally. Ep one was so-so though. Without spoiling me, does it get better?

I watched the classic film, Once Upon A Time In The West, for the very first time last night and wow, it was brilliant. I've always been a fan of older movies but I never particularly got the appeal of Westerns but this, oh this. Cut for brief, vaguely spoilery gushing )

And that's pretty much it, what's going on with you guys? Not long until new Merlin now, less than month!
HP meme, days 2, 3, & 4 )

This is yesterday's news but I haven't posted about Merlin in what feels like forever, so,

Via here.

I want to kidnap them and force them to perform slashy Merlin scenes forever meet them and be completely uncreepy in any way.

Also, Happy belated Birthday to [livejournal.com profile] randomb33, hope it was a good one! ♥

I've had a lot to say about these films over the past ten years and of course they don't come close to comparing to the books, but I'm not gonna lie, I almost cried watching this.
I'm away housesitting until Wednesday, so I'll be reading your entries but not commenting much because typing on my iPod, Angie, is hard fucking work.

Had a Harry Potter movie marathon with Nadeen tonight, was really fun. I'd forgotten how much I love POA, despite its many, many flaws. Gave me a massive hankering for Shoebox though, all that Sirius/Remus.

Hope you're all well!
This is probably only relevant to the Aussies on my list but Tomorrow When The War Began is finally a film! Click for trailer )
Day 15 → a fanfic

I've been excited about this question since Day One! Under the cut are two stories, one Merlin slash, one Lord of the Rings rps, so don't waste your time if either of these things aren't your bag, baby.

Two stories and one really long excerpt )
